Efva Attling is celebrating 30 years as a jewellery designer, and we’re marking the occasion by taking a closer look at some of her most iconic designs. Discover the timeless classic “Ring Chain”.

The name Ring Chain was inspired by an Elvis song: “Won’t you wear my ring around your neck…” The result is a clean, timeless design that has become a classic. A chain of rings that can be worn and fastened in multiple ways — it becomes far more than a piece worn around the neck. Rather, a sequence of gestures: ring after ring, creating rhythm and energy — a living flow.

There is something poetic in the way the rings connect. Each ring stands on its own, with its own weight and expression — yet it is only in relation to the others that the whole emerges. A chain of possibilities, where what is linked together always becomes greater than its parts, and where the wearer plays an active role in shaping the expression.
Ring Chain has been worn by Swedish royalty and presented on international design stages, including during Swedish Design Week in Tokyo. A piece that moves effortlessly between cultures, contexts and expressions — continuing to speak its own language, wherever in the world it may be.
